Sedgemoor District Council is now accepting applications from local businesses who have been required to close from the 5th November 2020 until at least the 2nd December 2020, which is the anticipated date the national lockdown will end.
The eligibility for the cash grants is that the business must close as per the New National Restrictions from 5th November 2020
Have been open and trading on the 4th November 2020 prior to lockdown restrictions and appear on the local rating list, as compiled by the Valuation Office Agency
The scheme is known officially as the 'Local Restrictions Support Grant (closed) Addendum'
The amount received depends on the rateable value of the premises. For each qualifying 28 days of national restrictions, qualifying businesses with a rateable value of:
- £15,000 or less = £1,334
- >£15,000 to <£51,000 = £2,000
- £51,000 or above = £3,000
Exemptions:
Businesses will not be eligible for the cash grant, where:
- they were not required to close
- premises that were unoccupied
- businesses not named on the rate account for the premises
- businesses that were in the administration, are insolvent or where a striking-off notice has been made.
- the business which has already received grant payments that equal the maximum of State aid permitted under the de minimis and the Covid-19 Temporary State Aid framework, or where an award of this grant would exceed those limits.
