Looming HMRC deadline for filing self-assessment returns

Well, September flew by and now we are nearing the end of October.

With the falling of the leaves and the cold nights, people have been turning on their central heating and my husbands work phone has been ringing at all hours, with requests for him to fix their boiler. Its always the same at this time of year, people haven’t used or had their boiler serviced, turn it on and panic that it’s not working well, or at all.

Its been somewhat like that for myself, I’ve been called by a few individuals needing to have their books sorted for the dreaded HMRC deadlines for self-assessment looming.  From my perspective, its all seems straightforward, and within a day or two its all been resolved with no issues, much to the relief of the individual concerned.

After speaking with some University friends, they too find the autumn and festive period one of the busiest for filing returns for clients, and with that in mind, I set aside some time today to get my online calendars scheduled with all HMRC dates for the next forthcoming year and also work out my availability for work over the next three months, to ensure I don’t overbook myself.

Its also been a reflective day today, when looking at my bullet journal, I realised how much has been achieved in the last few months and it’s been  very satisfying to see what I have been able to accomplish over the last two months.
