It is only a month and a bit until the new year, which signals the looming deadline for self-assessments to be submitted to HMRC by January 31st.
With the approach of the end of the year, there is always an influx of new business where sole traders ask for help getting their books in order ready for filing their return. i.e. just a box of receipts and bank statements.
I have now found out why a lot of my accountant and bookkeeper friends, tend to go abroad in January. Not only does it help to focus themselves and their clients in getting everything done before Christmas, it gives them some time out to refresh themselves ready for year-end.
